TiMotion Airband
My 11 month old niece Heidi has a severe condition called Brachycephaly (flat head syndrome) she falls into the the severe category. To get the help she needs, she requires a Technology in Motion Airband. Unfortunately these are not covered by the NHS. To give Heidi the best chance of recovery without skull surgery, she needs to go private and the cost of this headband is around £2000.
Ideally, Heidi should’ve had the headband fitted when she was around 5/6 months old whilst the bones are still soft, but due to COVID this has been delayed resulting in the whole issue being neglected. She has 100% ratio, this means her head is the same wide as it is long (square).
The specialist has given her mum 48 hours to make a decision as the longer it takes means her bones will start to fuse together. The quicker she is fitted with a headband means it is likely to be more effective.
If she does not receive the headband this may lead to complications in the future which could affect her eye site, hearing and ultimately could lead to Heidi having skull surgery.
Her mum is a single mum who is struggling financially to come up with such a large sum of money at very little notice.
