Team Mike - The Great Yorkshire Fundraiser

Thank you for taking time to come and look at this page for our amazing friend Mike Cushing.
Back in 2018 Mike was constantly back and forth to the doctors with stomach pains, before finally been referred to a dietitian.
With a history of colitis when Mike first started to feel unwell he thought it was just due to a flare up of that. He spoke to his colitis nurse and the GP suggested he should change his diet to help. Mike also had two colonoscopies but they both came back clear and then Mike was was diagnosed with IBS/ gluten intolerance.
However, over a few weeks the pain got so severe that after his shift at The Ivy one night Mike took himself to A+E and he never left. Here Mike had a CT scan which showed there was a blockage in his bowel and was admitted for emergency surgery.
Mike and his family were given the devastating news that he had incurable cancer. Mikes said:
'I didn’t expect it to be me. I am a very healthy guy. I exercise and eat right. I don’t drink or smoke, so it was such a shock. When the surgeon told me it was cancer I was blown away. Nothing prepares you for that.'
It is now two years since Mike's diagnosis and Mike has been unable to work, the stress and pressure financially this has put on the family is unthinkable. On numerous occasions Mike has raised money for cancer charities and most recently raised awareness of the financial shortfall due to Covid-19. So we think its about time TEAM MIKE did something for him and his incredible family.
Mike has been married to his beautiful wife Jane for 21 years and have two amazing children Teddy & Phoebe and two very cute pugs (Buzz & Bear), not forgetting some incredible friends too #TeamMike.
Anything you can do to help the family at this difficult time would be incredible.
